One stale number is all it takes

You sell the same physical stock across multiple channels: bol.com, Amazon, your own webshop. You run your business normally, selling wherever a customer wants to buy.

Those channels don't share one accurate, real-time picture of what you actually have left. It's possible to promise something twice. A customer buys the last unit on bol.com. That's normally great. However, somewhere else, that listing hasn't caught up yet, so it still shows the same unit as available. Another customer buys it there too.

You're out of stock and had no way of knowing. You did nothing wrong, nothing you could have watched for. The first sign anything's off isn't a warning. It's the consequence: a cancellation, maybe an angry customer, or a strike against your account. Only after that do you even find out why: a number, somewhere, was quietly wrong.

The damage compounds beyond the one order. These aren't isolated annoyances. Marketplaces track cancellations as a pattern, and enough of them puts your actual selling privileges at risk.

Same three channels, same starting stock. Watch what happens without a shared source of truth and with one.
